Book Review:Okay, confession.

I’m now adding Lynette Eason to my very short list of favorite Romantic Suspense authors. Despite her having written a slew of books, I’ve only recently discovered her, and now I’m hooked.

I absolutely devoured this book and every other book of hers that I’ve managed to get my hands on.Collateral Damage was one of those books I never wanted to end but could not put down. I had to force myself to slow down so I could enjoy the flow of conversation. Lynette’s writing style allows for quick reading while driving deep character arcs and multi-layered plots. Figuring out the bad guy left me running in circles while the building romantic tension between Asher and Brooke stayed in the background. If you enjoy Romantic Suspense that has a heavy dose of suspense and milder romantic tones, I recommend this novel.

Nothing feels contrived or overdone. There is a subtle balance between running-for-your-life insanity and slow, gentle romance. Lynette Eason walks that line with finesse.Collateral Damage does not shy away from PTSD and its effects. Many of the characters mentioned, especially the two main characters, suffer some form of PTSD and it is written with accuracy and grace.

I don’t mind hard topics, and I cannot wait for the next book in this series.I loved that Brooke and Asher had long conversations, not just about who was chasing them, but about things that mattered. This additional layer of thought made the romance more elegant and less about falling in love just because someone saved your life.I requested a copy of this book from Revell Reads. I was not required to leave a positive review. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own. Published by tabithabouldinauthorI live in the same small town where I've always been. Someday I hope to travel, but I will always call this place home.

Contrast synonym. I am an indie author who hopes to someday snag a deal with a traditional publisher. I'm a simple person, with a simple life and an imagination that refuses to hush until I write out the life of the characters in my head.

I hope you enjoy my books and my blog. I hope I can inspire you to do what you love. Follow your dreams.
