These models are available from a wide range of different brands, such as Leica, Kodak, Pentax, Hasselblad, and Olympus. What are the reasons to use a film camera? If youre considering the selection of a vintage film camera, you may be wondering about the advantages such a camera offers. Film offers many unique effects that you cant find anywhere else. Film photography offers a higher dynamic range for more natural-looking colors in the end photo.

With HDR, film is known to be more forgiving, allowing you to salvage images that are slightly underexposed or overexposed. Using one of these types of 35mm cameras will also allow you to gain a better understanding of how many settings work since you will be required to manually control most of them. All you need to take photos with one of these cameras is film, allowing you to forego the necessity of charging the device after taking several hundred images. This can be very important if youre taking pictures in a remote location of the world where you dont have easy access to electricity. How do you keep your 35mm camera in good shape? When youve selected a vintage 35mm camera, keeping it in good shape is paramount. To do so, there are some things you can do that will keep the system performing well.

The first thing you want to do is keep the camera away from humidity as wet and humid conditions arent healthy for many different parts of a 35mm device. Make sure to keep the system dry, which can mostly be achieved by carrying it in a case when out and about. You should also clean the device with a microfiber cloth on a regular basis in order to remove the buildup of dust and dirt from the lens and viewfinder. When the camera is not in use, keep a cap over the lens to protect it from scratches. This preventative maintenance will be very beneficial in the long run.

You really cant go wrong with Fuji or Kodak film. This ISO 400 film is a great general purpose film that works well both indoors and outdoors. If you plan on shooting exclusively outdoors or in very well lit areas, you might get a slightly better picture quality with an ISO 100 or 200 speed film, but its 2014, and if you're still shooting film, you probably already know this.Ken Rockwell raves about Fuji Velvia 50 film, but that film is considerably more expensive than this Fuji Superia X-TRA 400.Ironically, Amazon sells single rolls of Kodak film for less than the average cost of this 4-pack, but Amazon considers the Kodak film to be an 'Add-On Item', which means you can only order a maximum of 3 rolls at a time. If you need more, you have to get a different type of film, so I got. I dislike penalizing a product because of a vendor, so I am reviewing only the film.

I like the high range of the tones in Superia fim, and I love the perfect adaptability of this 200 speed film. Honestly, I can shoot it as if it is 100 or 400 without any problems at all; I just pay attention to my highlights and shadows and zone them in.The film gets five stars, but it is no longer made with the HQ label: it is known simply as Fuji Superia 200. That means any film you see with this label is out of date. I am not penalizing the vendor because I was aware of this and wanted this film because I have loved it so much and the newer film is not quite the same.

I would say just be aware. If you have a problem with expired film.

I have shot about 20 rolls of this stuff, so this review has been long in the making. And my final word is: Kodak Portra 400 is a really great film. It's not too punchy, it's not too muted, it's very accurate reproducing colors, and has GREAT latitude.

Accidentally overexposed three stops? No problem, you most likely got the shot. Set the ISO to 1600? Don't worry about it. Don't even push the film.

It will be fine, with little extra grain. This stuff is EXCELLENT, and amazing for portraits! Use this film along with a low-light lens like an f/1.4, set it to f/2 or under, and underexpose a stop or two, and you will get DREAMY portraits.I give it 4.5 stars, because I wish it was just a little bit more punchy, but that is a very minor complaint (and I complain too much.) I'll just mark it. For ISO 100 color film this is excellent film. After testing, I rate it at box speed. One word of caution as a rule one does not want to underexpose negative film, especially with Kodak Ektar 100. Some say not to use it for portraits as the skin can become ruddy.

In my shooting I have seen a little of that, not too much, and nothing to complain about. This film can produce wonderful color, sharp images, all when exposed and focused properly.

Keep it simple, box speed, correct exposure, correct focus, you will have amazing images. This is a nice product within the limits of what it is designed for and what I wanted. What I wanted is something that could digitize old negatives that I have had sitting in a box for the last 20 years, so that, afterwards, I could put them in Lightroom and organize them.

A is also in the works, and it's due to arrive on 11th February, alongside Yakuza 5, next year. Yakuza 3 ps4. It is mostly a way to capture old memories - remember people who are no longer with me or family members from a long time ago.The device itself is pretty to use. Just find the appropriate insert for the negative type, open the insert, place the negative, close the insert, slide into the device, and then feed the negative from right to left by hand to position each frame in the viewer. The viewer is nice for identifying what you have but doesn't provide deep detail. The files save to the SD card I.
