Tiny Troopers Joint Ops combines twin stick shooters with some RTS gameplay yet sadly feels like it should've been left on the mobile devices it originally came from.The premise of the game is pretty simple. You're given short missions that can be completed in a matter of minutes with simple objectives such as escorting NPC's, killing enemies or collecting some sort of item.

The missions them self eventually begin to feel very strenuous and repetitive which doesn't help because of the game play.From a game play perspective it feels as if the game is just too slow, what may seem like a faster system on an iOS per say comes across as slow and sluggish movements on a console. Your character moves at an almost fumbling pace and the rate of fire that your gun shoots is astronomically slow making your overall game play experience seem like a sludge. Trying to add more into the game play however is the slight RTS element in which you can pull up the screen and if you have the amount of currency needed by items such as grenades rocket launchers and airstrikes; I however didn't really find myself having the need to use it as special weapons when needed were plentiful to come across.They do implement a permadeath sort of feature in the game though in the form of if your squad member dies you can bring him back if you have the medals needed, otherwise he is dead and gone for good. This does come with it's pros and cons though. Since your squad moves and shoots as one it can be hard to tell which character is which and losing a character that has been upgraded can be a bad blow to take.You are presented with two different campaigns though spanning about 60 or so levels. Throughout your missions you'll find yourself going through different terrains as well though other than it being a different paint job they all feel the same to go around in.

Now as somebody that has in fact played the mobile versions of this game the levels are identical in each version. This of course makes this console version seem held back even more as you blow through levels in a matter of minutes.Going back to the fact that it was a mobile game as well does hurt the graphics. We are given a cartoonish looking game that just looks bland. Nothing is too detailed and looks the same as it's mobile counterparts nearly.Overall Tiny Troopers Joint Ops is something you can just pick up and play that is at least competent and playable. It's just unfortunate though that it feels too much like a mobile game to really be a worthwhile console game to recommend. If given a longer and more fleshed out version this game could of been much better.

Instead we are just given a mobile port that doesn't do much to make itself stand out as another but that.Score: 3/10.
